During his secondment at the University of Gothenburg, in the research group of Prof. Leif Eriksson, Laureano E. Carpio will focus on studying the PIDDOSOME, a protein complex involved in the regulation of cell death.
This complex is composed of three key proteins: PIDD, CASPASE-2, and RAIDD. Using molecular modeling approaches, he will investigate the interactions between these proteins to better understand how the complex assembles, identify critical binding sites, and determine the key amino acids involved in its formation.
